Alumni Spotlight: Ericka Leigh鈥檚 Sustainable Fashion and Textile Composting Business
Ericka Leigh graduated from the Patel College of Global Sustainability in December 2015 with a degree in Sustainability Tourism and a concentration in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security. Ericka is currently involved in various sustainability projects, working with several local companies and organizations.

International Collaboration in Algae Research with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece
The Patel College of Global Sustainability (PCGS) has teamed up with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in Greece to advance the commercial development of algae, a potentially sustainable source of transportation fuels and consumer products.

PCGS Sustainable Business Concentration Director, Dr. Pradeep Haldar Receives the Excellence in Civic & Community Engagement Award from the 麻豆蜜桃AV Office of Community Engagement.
PCGS Sustainable Business Concentration Director, Dr. Pradeep Haldar received the Excellence in Civic & Community Engagement Award as a recognition of PCGS鈥� partnership with the Tampa International Airport. Last semester, PCGS students in his class collaborated with TPA to review and revamp their environmental, social governance reporting efforts.

Envision Workshop - Spring 2023
Envision training is provided to equip participants with fundamental skills and knowledge to support a career in infrastructure. The workshop will take place on April 20 & 21, 2023, from 11 AM - 3 PM, in room CGS 136/138. The workshop will be hosted by Ms. Ifetayo Venner, President of Water Environment Federation.

Dr. Kebreab Ghebremichael is an Associate Professor of Instruction and Director of the Water Sustainability Concentration in the M.S. program at the Patel College of Global Sustainability. Dr. Ghebremichael encourages students to explore further on their own and consult with PCGS professors to guide and support their sustainability careers.

Student Spotlight: Jacob Wilson Educates and Inspires Children About Sustainability
Jacob Wilson is a graduate student at PCGS pursuing a Master鈥檚 degree in Sustainable Business. Jacob has worked on several sustainability projects, both in the U.S. and Spain. One of his great interests is educating youth on environmental sustainability.

Solar CITIES Solutions, an organization founded by PCGS Climate Director, Dr. T.H. Culhane, focused on promoting sustainable solutions through biogas, has been nominated for three categories in the 2023 AD and Biogas Industry Awards, organized by the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association and the World Biogas Association.

Winnie Mulamba was in the class of 鈥�19 at the Patel College of Global Sustainability with the academic concentration in Water Sustainability. Currently, Winnie is an Executive Director and is leading two sustainability collectives: Florida For Good (FFG) and B Tourism (BT), which are generating impacts on the local industry.

鈥淏reastfeeding: A Foundational Strategy to Strengthen Sustainability in Infant Nutrition and Development鈥� by Dr. Joseph Dorsey and Marian Davidove, M.A., RDN
Dr. Joseph Dorsey co-authored Chapter 17 in the Routledge Handbook of Sustainable Diets with PCGS alumna and Nutritionist, Marian Davidove, M.A., RDN. The chapter is entitled 鈥淏reastfeeding: A foundation strategy to strengthen sustainability in infant nutrition and development鈥� and highlights how initiating breastfeeding early in a child鈥檚 life is the cornerstone for implementing a sustainable diet with long-term positive effects.
