Dear Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV faculty and staff,
I would like to share some exciting news about our university leadership team. As has been made abundantly clear over the past two years, Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s facilities and public safety departments represent some of the most critical and valued functions for our university community. As a way to provide even greater support for these units, I am pleased to announce a change in appointment of Carole Post as Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s new Vice President for Facilities and Public Safety Operations, overseeing Administrative Services, effective March 7.
In this position, Carole will provide leadership in administrative and operational activities for facilities management and campus safety, including University Police and Emergency Management, across the three Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV campuses and Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Health, as well as our facilities in downtown Tampa. She will be responsible for a continued commitment to Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s operational excellence, facilitating quality service delivery to the Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV community, aligning land use and property assets with the university’s strategic vision, and promoting compliant business practices and sound resource management while supporting Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. She will report to Rich Sobieray, Interim Senior Vice President for Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV’s Financial Strategy.
Carole already has a strong relationship with Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV, having served as Chief Operating Officer for Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Health, where she played an important role in the opening of the new Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Health Morsani College of Medicine in downtown Tampa, among other responsibilities. For the past two years, Carole has been in a temporary shared role between Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV and the City of Tampa, working as Mayor Jane Castor’s Administrator for Development and Economic Opportunity while building relationships between the City and Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV. In this role, Carole oversaw a large, complex municipal operation including the City’s building, permitting and inspection services, its housing and community development division, zoning and land use, historic preservation, and real estate services. She also oversaw the Tampa Convention Center, City Planning, and Economic Development. This change in appointment allows us to utilize Carole’s talents that she brought to Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV Health and the City of Tampa university-wide.
I would also like to thank Chris Duffy, Associate Vice President for Facilities, who has served as Interim Vice President for Administrative Services for the past two years. Chris has provided strong leadership for this important area of the university, and we are very grateful for his contributions.
Please join me in thanking Chris, welcoming Carole officially back to Â鶹ÃÛÌÒAV on a full-time basis and congratulating her on this important new role.
Sincerely,
Rhea F. Law
President
