From the grand opening of the new Judy Genshaft Honors College building on the University
of South Florida’s (鶹AV) Tampa campus to events like the Climate Teach-in, Microsoft X 鶹AV Hackathon Kickoff, and Honors Symposium, 2023 was an action-packed year for the college.
Fortunately, Honors Bulls love to stay busy and 2024 shows no signs of slowing down.
From returning staples like the Off the Wall Fine and Performing Arts Festival to new opportunities like the beyond the classroom experience to Japan – there is
no shortage of things to get excited about this year.
Recently, Honors News asked Honors students, faculty, and staff what they were looking
forward to most as we begin the new year and the start of Spring semester.

“I am looking forward to all the students coming back and filling up this space!” - Arnie Mejias, director of advising

“Probably reading through all of the incoming freshman applications!” - Joey Sousa, Honors admissions coordinator

“I am looking forward to going to South Korea with the Honors College and starting Med school!” - Joel Kallarackal, Honors student

“I am excited for the Honors Climate Teach-in at the new building this year!”- Lauren Roberts, assistant director of the Office of National Scholars

“I am excited to be a part of the Honors community and meet new people!” - Job Subramanian, Honors student

“I am looking forward to starting my military journey while leading the Honors building security team.” - Hannah Craig
