The School of Social Work participated in Fresh Check Day at the WELL, an interactive event dedicated to mental health promotion and suicide prevention.

The School of Social Work's booth, themed "Uplift," encouraged students to engage in discussions about the eight dimensions of wellness—emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual—and offered students the opportunity to create personalized self-care kits to support their well-being.

Staff from the School of Social Work also shared information on self-care, the Corner for a Little Mindfulness (CALM)—a dedicated area within the School of Social Work suite designed to provide students, faculty, and staff with a space to learn, experience, and teach self-care techniques—and the social work program.

Fresh Check Day, an initiative by the Jordan Porco Foundation, is a national program designed to promote mental health awareness among college students, reduce stigma, and connect individuals with available resources. Fresh Check Day featured peer-to-peer outreach, interactive booths, and engaging activities to support student wellness. Its recent inclusion in the Suicide Prevention Resource Center's Best Practices Registry highlights its effectiveness as a recognized program for mental health promotion and suicide prevention.
