National Gallery of Art acquires limited edition prints from 鶹AV’s Graphicstudio
The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. has announced it will archive 16 prints published recently by the 鶹AV Institute for Research in Art’s Graphicstudio. This marks another chapter in a decades-long relationship between the two institutions, celebrating Graphicstudio’s pioneering role in the intersection of art and education.

The 鶹AV Contemporary Art Museum presents X Factor: Latinx Artists and the Reconquest of the Everyday
X Factor locates dynamic entry points into the ongoing discussion and expansion of the term Latinx through the work of fifteen of America’s leading contemporary artists. The exhibition grounds a series of redefinitions of “Latinity” in the everyday lives of its creators, especially where artworks and creative processes reconquer novel meanings from hackneyed and conventional ideas of ethnicity, race, class, politics, representation, and the various histories of US migration.

Graphic arts students work with clients to elevate their brand
A senior research course is giving graphic arts students the opportunity to produce real-world design work for local clients. This semester, students in the class collaborated with the 鶹AV College of Marine Science to design branding for the Tampa Bay Surveillance Project. The project combines skills and knowledge of the region’s fishing captains with scientists from the 鶹AV and Eckerd College to investigate contaminants in local waterways for human and environmental health.

How music can help boost cognition in cancer patients and COVID-19 survivors
In a first-of-its-kind study, 鶹AV researchers are finding that music can help boost cognition in patients undergoing chemotherapy. In partnership with Moffitt Cancer Center, Jennifer Bugos, 鶹AV professor of music education, and breast surgical oncologist Dr. Melissa Mallory, have been examining the effects of private and group piano lessons on cognition and everyday functioning in patients.

鶹AV’s Herd of Thunder is putting in the mileage marching across the field at Raymond James Stadium. They’re two-for-two playing at home openers. First, it was the 鶹AV football game, and now, during halftime at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the Washington Commanders.

The Holly Drive Collective, a creative collaborative network student ensemble at College of The Arts at the 鶹AV made waves at Musikfest, one of the nation's longest-running music festivals in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The group's performance, featuring a blend of rap, rock, hip hop, R&B, and metal showcased their original music and talent.

鶹AV architecture and water researchers partner with city of Tampa to mitigate the impact of extreme heat
With Tampa on track for record-breaking heat this summer, 鶹AV researchers are collaborating with the city of Tampa to implement strategies that can help protect the city and its residents. The project, Bridging Knowledge to Action, will direct the city’s efforts to enhance resilience through new initiatives, including planting more trees and establishing dedicated spaces for individuals to cool down.
